About Yliza Benjamin

I have experienced first-hand what an empowered birth can do to the confidence of a woman. Empowerment is defined as “the process of enhancing the capacity of individuals or groups to make choices and to transform those choices into desired actions and outcomes.” I empower you to have a safe and healthy birth by building your confidence and reducing fears surrounding birth and beyond.

I help you:

  • Build confidence in yourself so you trust birth
  • Build confidence in your partner as your continuous support person
  • Strengthen partnerships; launching couples into parenthood
  • Develop supportive communities through classes

I am a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE) which further supports my passion for evidence-based maternity care. Lamaze International highlights six care practices that promote normal birth as recommended by the World Health Organization.

  1. Let labor begins on its own
  2. Freedom of movement throughout labor
  3. Continuous labor support
  4. No routine interventions
  5. Spontaneous pushing in upright or gravity neutral positions
  6. No separation of mother and baby with unlimited opportunities for breastfeeding.

These six care practices provide the foundation for the knowledge and skills taught in my classes and help shape your own birth story. For further up-to-date information about birth and parenting visit Lamaze.
